Open Source Government

A great idea in principle. In fact, it appears to be what Thomas Jefferson had in mind when he wrote the Constitution.  I think open source is the same thing as transparency in government.  I hope it is.  Of course, we don't have anything like that at the moment.  We don't even have open source elections.  Citizens United and easily perverted electronic voting machines killed any semblance of fairness and honesty in that process.

Open source government is certainly an idea worth striving for.  Beth Noveck has worked in the White House to make it happen. I came away from watching Beth's  TED presentation on the subject believing that with people like her on the job,  transparency, honesty, and an open source paradigm are possible.

Beth Noveck

Beth Noveck is very impressive as a communicator and as a charismatic presence.  She is definitely the kind of person I want shaping public policy in this country.
